I’m getting this post out a bit late today. And it will be a brief post as well.
I hate winter. Winter chills my bones and, though the white snow is beautiful, when it melts it leaves fields of brown and the reaching bones of bare trees. So when the first signs of spring comes, it is a rebirth. Today I see smatterings of green poking though the dead grass. Buds are emerging on the branches of our trees. Color and warmth is on its way. I do love spring.
But Spring also signifies a surge in our activities. My husband farms. In the winter, life can be relaxed. We have few livestock so he hangs around the house and we don’t have as much to do. Now that spring has come, he is outside, getting ready to plant the fields. My daughters are prepping for their dance recital, and school is winding down. Life in April is one of the busiest in our household. But I will take the hectic over the drab dead-ness of winter. New life is springing forward.
Speaking of busy… I have a writing deadline to keep so I have no deep insights for you today. Enjoy the explosion of the upcoming spring colors. Hope it invigorates new ideas for writing. Find a lovely spot by a tree and enjoy nature as you write. And let the smells and colors of spring inspire you.
