For the month of February, we have chosen the topic of literary love for our blog posts. Today, I am going to talk about a few authors and the things they do that I love.

First up: Jennifer Armentrout, author of the Covenant and Lux series. I love the way her female protagonists are strong, sassy, and smart. I love the way her male protagonists are annoying yet loveable. Most of all, I love the scenes between these guys and girls and the sparks that ignite the page between them!

Next: Sarah Fine, author of Sanctum. She is fantastic at painting the settings and emotions in her book, and I cannot wait for more from this debut author. The feelings she delves into regarding suicide, for both the suicidal character and the ones left behind, are real, believable, and true-to-life.

Next: Emily McKay, author of The Farm. I love the suspense she created in her book as the main character and her sister plan and attempt an escape from the facility that holds them. While reading, I felt myself worrying along with them as they went through their trials and tribulations.

Next: Maureen McGowan, author of Deviants. She does secrets and the risk of exposure really well. She’s another debut author who does suspense well and keeps the reader turning the pages.

Next: Brigid Kemmerer, author of the Elemental Series. She is great at dealing with family relationships, specifically between the four brothers who populate her books. They are individuals with unique ways of dealing with each other, and the family dynamic is consistent throughout.

Next: John Green, author of The Fault in Our Stars. He is amazing at young adult contemporary fiction filled with emotion. His ability to make readers feel for his characters is incredible.

Next: Maggie Stiefvater, author of The Wolves of Mercy Falls series. She is amazing at writing description and love that never gives up no matter the obstacles.

Next: Ann Rule, true crime writer and author of many books, most notably The Stranger Beside Me: Ted Bundy, The Shocking Inside Story. She excels at writing true crime in a way that fascinates the reader while including facts and truths.

Finally, there are many more authors I admire, but these writers stand out in my mind when I think of books and stories I love!
